Do We Grow Adult Tastebuds? |Bird & Wild Collaboration

It’s so odd that people have such varied likes and dislikes, it’s so annoying when you hate something that everyone absolutely loves. Means you can’t fully enjoy going on cute coffee dates or trips to Yo Sushi without having to be the awkward one asking for something different.

For as long as I’ve known I’ve absolutely hated coffee, it’s way too strong and leaves such an awful aftertaste. Generally couldn’t understand what people loved about coffee and why they’d chose it instead of something much nicer like a glass of Pepsi Max or Apple Tango!

Since working in a café I’ve learnt so much more about coffees, beans vs ground, caffeinated Vs decaffeinated, expressos, lattés, cuppacinos, mochas, flat whites. Even after this none of these coffees took my interest. As for the coffees with syrups… I saw potential, they always smell so good. So I decided to give them a try and well, I’ve become a tad obsessed! Caramel😍… Hazelnut😍… Vanilla😍… I LOVE THEM! I would never have even liked flavoured coffees when I was younger but it seems by tastebuds are finally maturing and I LIKE COFFEE!

I’m now constantly on the scout for different types of coffee and syrups to try. One of the coffee companies I came across was Bird & Wild. Their coffee is super friendly since the coffee is shade grown and bird friendly, while also being fairtrade and organic… everything really! 6% of coffee sales are donated to RSPB to help give nature a home. If you want to find out more about Bird & Wild there’s plenty of information on their website.

When I came across this company, there was one coffee lover on my mind who I knew would love to try this… My Dad! There’s always a cup of coffee within a meter away from him. These are his views towards the coffee:

“I usually stick to my holy grail Nescafé Instant Coffee but when I was told this coffee is shade grown and organic, I thought it’d be interesting to see how it compares. To be honest I was a bit weary to begin with but I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised! It was a pleasant cup of coffee with no strong aftertaste and a nice aroma. The coffee seemed to be sweeter than my usual which meant I didn’t have to add sweeteners – which would be a great healthier option for me personally to avoid adding sugar/ sweetener. I love the packaging, the modern design defiantly makes it look enticing and friendly, as for the actual packet, it would easily fit in the cupboard… leaving more space for biscuits! I’d definitely look into buying this coffee again!”
