A Very British Friday Afternoon

It doesn’t get much more of a British afternoon than retreating for a classy Afternoon Tea eating cheese and pickle sandwiches (with the crusts cut off!!), jam scones and Victoria sponge cake off a 3-tier stand, while sipping a hot cup of tea! But the ultimate question is: pinky in or pinky out?

Last Friday, my mum and I went to St. James Hotel in Nottingham for a delicious Afternoon Tea courtesy of an offer we found on Groupon. Using the deal it meant we paid £14.95 instead of £25.90 saving 42% which is an absolute bargain in my eyes! If you’re feeling a bit more adventurous you can choose the option of afternoon tea with a glass of Prosecco for £17.95, yet another bargain.

We were both so impressed by the whole experience, the hotel itself is absolutely gorgeous with such a rich pretty interior giving American NYC lobby vibes with the warm golds, friendly staff, giant chandeliers and luggage carts.

As for the actual Afternoon Tea, it was super super delicious with a huge variety of sandwiches and pastries. The sandwich fillers include: cheese and pickle, ham and piccalilli, tuna and cucumber and egg mayonnaise, enough variety to suit any taste. As for the pâtisseries there are a mix of: mini Victoria sponges, mini brownies, mini meringues with strawberries and cream and fruit tarts. Finishing off the top layer with plain scones, strawberry jam and clotted cream. Could it get any better than that? Definitely not!

This is such a perfect way to spend an afternoon with a friend, family member or significant other or even bought as a gift, nobody will turn down an afternoon eating mouth-watering delicacies. Especially when it’s somewhere as beautiful as St. James Hotel in Nottingham with such a helpful, friendly group of staff members in a relaxing atmosphere.

I couldn’t recommend this deal enough, if you’re having a day trip to Nottingham and are looking for a place to grab a spot of lunch after some shopping, the hotel is located right near the town and virtually next to the Nottingham Castle and ever so famous Robin Hood. Or if you’re a regular to Nottingham, here’s a hidden gem just a street out of the hustle and bustle with a great taste in decor and delicatessens.

Make sure you book in quick while you can still get a fab deal!
